This is the beginning of our new patch upgrade process. Typically, we initiate the patch upgrade in the TEST environment. After several days of testing by the Rates and Finance team, once the testing phase is complete, we proceed to upgrade to the same version in the LIVE environment. Sometimes, during the testing period in the TEST environment, Sometimes CIVICA releases new patches within a week. In such cases, when we upgrade to the latest version in the LIVE environment, we lose visibility of the previous versions released by CIVICA (eg. 38.2), only we can see the latest version (e.g. 39.2).
To prevent this issue, whenever we successfully upgrade in the TEST environment, we simultaneously update/download the same version to our Local repository in the LIVE environment. This ensures that once testing is completed in the TEST environment, we can upgrade to the version that has already been downloaded and saved in the Local repository in the LIVE environment.
For this process, there is no need to stop the LIVE Environment because we are simply downloading the version from CIVICA, which does not affect any ongoing business operations within the authority.
- First Login COBAUTHAPP: Run the command “artman -version”
It will show what version is Installed in the LIVE Environment and the latest CIVICA version.
- Run the command “update_auth_repo”, It will update/Download the latest version from the CIVICA cloud into the Moira Local repository.
