Run command - artman -version [ENTER]

This will find what version we have currently (installed version) , what is in our repository ready to install (Downloaded version) and what the latest published  CIVICA has available for the environment we selected previously (Civica Version) - TEST in this case.

In this case - we haven't installed the version we want to update to yet - it is still showing 38.3. So we need to update. This can take up to 15min. It find the current patch and stores it in a repository.

Run the command update_auth_repo [Enter]

NOTE: This step can be done days prior to the update. And it stores it in repository. It is suggested that this happens prior -so that if another version is released in the meantime - you have this one available.

Stop the test environment by running the command prompt wasservice -stop test

Open the COBAUTHAPITEST server (web tab)

Open Services and Internet Information Services 10 (IIS)

In  Internet Information Services 10 (IIS)

Dropdown COBAUTHAPITEST (Moira\authtech)

Repeat for all Test

Then open Services

Back in the COBAUTHAPP server

Run the command upgrade_authority [Enter]

To upgrade the site to the Civica version shown above

Enter yes command when prompted.

Over the next 10-15 min - the system will perform a PreCheck. These are CIVICA checks to make sure that the environment is okay to proceed with the upgrade.

Once the PreChecks have run successfully, you will be prompted to commence the upgrade by typing 'y' [Enter] to continue.

You will be notified that the upgrade has commenced.  This can take up to  4 hours.

You will see the lines updating as the process continues

e.g.

It steps through one directory at a time..

4 hours for TEST

Wait for multiple lines upgrade succeeded, and for it to be sitting at a DOS prompt

When completed - we need to refresh (Application Pool - COBAUTHAPITEST / Tasks ) if not already triggered.

Sometimes the process restarts the service for you, so you don't need further action.

Otherwise you need to prompt wasservice -start test

You can check by opening up TEST and seeing if it working….. Showing the new update
