Part 1 – Add a Node in the Hierarchy Manager
Log into Authority
Open Hierarchy Manager (Admin access-> Syestem-> Web platform-> Hireachy Manager)
A7 Screen will opened -> Select a user Role – 1 – All Permissions
Open Hierarchy – Auth 7 Menu:
Navigate to the Parent Node where the new node is to me located, example below:
Right Mouse Click – Add New Child Node
- Give it a title
- OK
Right Mouse Click – Node Properties
- Note down the node number
- Change the sequence if required
- Check the roles assigned
- OK
Save and Close the Hierarchy
Part 2 – Create the Menu Item in Authority
In Authority, Open Menu Items – i_mn002
Select Add
Enter the following;
- Menu Item Name
- Alias Reference (find out more)
- Find Select Limit (try to avoid anything over 500
- Printer (Should be Modifiable)
- Module Reference
- Security Level (can be left the default (0))
To identify the Command (for the Menu Table), refer to the release notes for the version of Authority you are using in the menu items section
OK
Once you hit OK, the menu number will automatically be generated.
Don’t close this menu, you will need it again.
Part 3 – Link the Menu Item to the Hierarchy Node
In Menu Items (i_mn002), select Hierarchy Links button
In the first field, enter the hierarchy number that corresponds to the Hierarchy (e.g. Auth 7 Menu), tab
Enter the node number noted down previously. This will populate the levels accordingly.
Save – OK
To finalise the process in the menu search on the Authority screen type ‘Refresh’ and select Menu Refresh. (Admin access-> System -> Web Platofrms-> Menu referesh )
Sometimes comes with an error, we must re-run it until it appears clear screen. Then the new menu will appear under the hierarchy.
