You may be required to provide IT with your computer’s IP address or PC name in order for IT to provide support remotely. 

 

Instructions to locate your computers IP address:

 

Click on the start button 

Type in Command Prompt and select the app 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A black screen will open

 

Type in ipconfig and hit enter 

 

 

A list of information will appear. 

 

The third line down shows the IPv4 Address. 

 

This will be what IT needs to remote onto your computer. 

 

 

 

 

 

Instructions to locate your PC name:  

Click on the start button 

Type PC Name 

 

Select View your PC Name 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

     

 

Under Device Specifications, your Device name is listed.
